A technical book explaining in detail every nail and bolt in the construction of Gothic buildings. The book has careful plans for the readers to have all the necessary information they need for building Gothic structures. We are taken to England where the term gothic refers to the Goths' people who were thought to be uncouth. The buildings in early constructions are very crude and unattractive becoming structures that came from the careful use of stone, plans, and building techniques with flying buttresses adding support for the heavy vaulting.The authors speaks about the rise, decline, and elimination of the Gothic Period after spreading to France, Germany, and the Northern and Southern European Countries. He decribes the changes in the building techniques as assimilation of the Gothic period rose and fell. During the years Germany was divided Heiko remained a popular boy's name in the East but far lesser so in the West. Acoustically the pronunciation (Hi-Koo) can be confused with Haiku, the short poetry form from Japan.

By Amazon Customer Goodbye Heiko, Goodbye Berlin is a great read for the LGTBQ community and anyone who wants a good book. I learned about Berlin during the Cold War and the Berlin Wall before and after the Fall. You get a sense of what the gay subculture was like on both sides of the Wall during that period. I've also learned more about the life of a transgender person and get a glimpse of the journey one goes through making a transition. Overall I enjoyed the book. I definitely would recommend this to be put on your must read list.

I especially enjoyed Levy's quirky writing style, which frequently omits determiners, pronouns and prepositions, which usually seem necessary, but here their absence creates a sense of light and open space for the narrative and its characters to move through. A bold, sensitive reminder of the importance of human connection. Sincerely recommended.

Fascinating place and time with interesting characters and an unexpected ending. As a straight man I easily related to the unrequited love story that is universal and has nothing to do with sexual orientation but everything to do with being human and caring for others. Highly recommended.

Bay was clueless about her own true wants and needs, but she faked it very well in her online blog. Unfortunately, that doesn't really translate to the real world especially in her situation since she was writing the blog from a different POV from her own true wants/needs. Book two was enjoyable, but I was getting irritated with Bay's constant insecurities - she had been involved in the real life experiences of D/s by then that she should've had a clearer view of it, especially after writing a blog for 2 years first!Book three almost did me in ... I almost gave up and deleted the whole series. Bay's insecurities were beyond my tolerance and her running away at every little bump in the road instead of facing the man she supposedly loved and trying to work things out was just lame and overdone.However, I stuck it out and the series did redeem itself at the very end. All I can say is, every submissive needs a Dom like Raider! If they had that option, then every woman would be brave enough to be a submissive!

I keep Professor Steriling's 'Dummie' books around for when I want a different view from that of my big fat College Books, and in most cases, well, it seems that her Algebra I books suited just fine. Her Algebra II books reviews, in brief, much of Algebra. which is sort of how the University Community has learned to treat math skills... that everyone always needs to review. Probably even most Math Teachers need to review each special little area before walking into a Classroom and pretending to Know It All.But, yes, her Algebra II was just as clear and lucid as her Algebra I. and if you need a bunch of exercise problems, well, I think she has a workbook or something published for that.The last chapter of the book is great. She lists 10 tricks that can help you manipulate numbers. Some are what I knew already, but some of her tricks -- one trick she invented herself! and it is really cool. a few of the tricks were really cool.She is a really smart lady, but no show off. She seems to have had a lot of experience either with tutoring, or helping out kids coming to her office during office hours. she knows how to explain things in ordinary language.

It does not explain topics thoroughly enough for a struggling to understand. In addition, there are not enough example problems to demonstrate the various concepts as they are introduced. I am still trying to find a better, affordable Algebra text to use with my students.

It’s about time that someone came out – with an intimately artistic book – of young girls getting amorous with each other.About a dozen pairs of girls appear. They are pictured in country houses, in tubs and showers, and outdoors in natural settings. They are alone. They are not being rushed. They are all quite nude. There’s plenty of kissing -- and very intimate touching. Very little is left to the imagination. I found the book to be hugely romantic.All of the women are really young – with lithe figures and flawless complexions. Some are clean-shaven, many are not. The book finishes strongly. The babes get more beautiful and buxom towards the end.This is a coffee table book I’d like to leave out for young girls who visit me to discover. All of the photos are tastefully done. The situations seem quite natural and not posed. The girls -- mainly brunettes with a scattering of blonds -- come across as natural amateurs, and not glamorous models. The two babes on the cover – are no where to be found inside. Strange.The paper is very heavy, and the print quality is superb. The book isn’t extremely thick, but it’s very weighty and dense.The girls and settings, however, look very European. An American version as volume 2 would be nice. Highly recommended, nevertheless. Enjoy.

A colonial settlement was established in the middle of Cape Ann in the late 1600's in woodlots and cleared land known as the Commons. Some say people settled there as protection from pirates and enemy Indians. Others say it was because the land was free. Commoners earned their living as farmers, weavers, shepherds, and fishermen. The settlement doubled in size to about fifty families by the mid 1700’s. But then, unlike most places that continued to grow to the present day, the population began to decline. With the emergence of coastal industries like fishing, shipping, and trading, people moved back to the harbor. The houses left behind were rented and soon fell into disrepair. By the mid 1800's all of the houses in this part of Gloucester, which became known as Dogtown, were torn down. Only the root cellars – today’s cellar holes – remained. Combining maps, genealogy data, and oral history, THE CELLARS SPEAK offers new insight into the spatial and social structure of Dogtown. It explains how the original settlement started and may have developed in its early days, and how family trees “connect” the homes of parents to those of their children forming social networks. These networks suggest the Commons and later Dogtown were not unlike the rest of town, in fact, not all that different from today’s Gloucester, where as someone once joked, “everyone knows everybody, and everyone is related.”

CarlottoAbout the Author Mark Carlotto is an aerospace engineer with over thirty years of experience in satellite imaging, pattern recognition, terrain mapping, and mobile applications. He received his Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1981, and has published more than a hundred papers in a variety of technical areas. Soon after moving to Gloucester in 2003, Mark got lost in Dogtown. As a result he decided to map all of the trails with a GPS, spending hundreds of hours following every path and investigating every cellar hole he could find. His 2007 book The Dogtown Guide received a Preservation Award from the Gloucester Historical Commission. His second book, The Island Woods, published in 2012, is a spatial history of the interior of Cape Ann. Using maps and photographs, he goes back and forth in time, describing the old roads, settlements, granite quarries and enigmatic boulders of the Cape.
