Bryant George Lamplugh brings us a finely honed perspective on the early national period in Georgia. With an focus on the personalities and bizarre politics of era, he make much more comprehensible the development of Georgia as a state. This is a very needed collection, with some meditations on what it means to be a historian outside the University and College ranks. Bravo!
