Humanity’s bitter end was bloody and violent. In those final days, the air was filled with the smell of decay and the moans of the undead; it wasn't long before society fell apart entirely. Bradley Harris lost everything then. All he had left was his family, and he would do anything he had to do to keep his pregnant wife and two children alive. Whether on foot or on the road, they’ll keep pressing north, hoping to get above the snow line and wait out the apocalypse. The only problem is there’s no end in sight. This terrifying tale explores what happens when a man is forced to adapt to a changing world, or die trying. And when disaster strikes, Brad begins to wonder- can the living be worse than the undead? Really good for a zombie story By Sandra B Most of the times I get into a zombie book I feel so exhausted because every other page is about fighting off the zombies and it's just repetitive! This one had a story where you got a feel for the characters, felt their exhaustion and how hopeless a future was in this new world. I liked the ending that just didn't end and you knew in another half a year, a sequel would be out. For all of that, I gave it a five star. Nice story! Nice ending...

The twists and turns along that ride keep you guessing and wondering what happens next. It is easy to get lost in the author's descriptions to the point where you look up from the book expecting to see a zombie gnawing at your own flesh. The juxtaposition of the suburban family and the grotesque is wonderfully disturbing and gut wrenching. Some of the characters you feel more for than others but overall every emotion comes flooding through with the author's words. The general theme of the book shines through: the living are worse than the dead.I recommend this for anyone who loves the gory, intensity of zombie thrillers.

Very realistic By chelebelle1229 A far cry from the ridiculous "finding love in the apocalypse"-type book I read previously, Dahmer Flu was refreshingly real - too real, at times. This book plays by what I consider to be the kinds of rules there would be in a book about a real zombie apocalypse. No outrageous getaways from bad situations. No moments where I said out loud, "Yeah right!". Having a family of my own really added to the emotional factor of the book. A few hiccups in the writing or editing here and there, it was overall a really good book.
