Precious and her friend, Nae Nae, are from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and have been friends since they met in kindergarten. They both have their innocence taken at a young age; Nae Nae by her stepfather and stepbrother, and Precious by Nae's stepbrother. At the age of twelve, Precious gives birth to a beautiful baby girl name Shaniya that her parents assume responsibility of since Precious is so young. Nae Nae's parents end up getting killed, her stepbrother, Rick, goes to jail for the murders, and Nae Nae is sent to live with Precious. As time goes on, Precious seems to have everything that Nae Nae wants. Precious thinks they are best friends, or even better, sisters, while Nae Nae is consumed with envy and starts to drift apart from Precious. While Precious has met the love of her life and starts getting money within the the drug game, Nae Nae blames Precious for all her downfalls, and begins to turn Shaniya against her, corrupting her young mind. Nae Nae spirals out of control as envy overtakes her. Will Nae Nae be able to take over Precious crown or will her envious ways be her downfall?

Needs a sequel..ASAP By Ms. Read I really think this book had the potential to be better than what it was.It had a good plot and solid characters.Yet some things seemed so far fetched and unbelievable that I had to laugh.The typos and use of curse words just for the heck of it was almost unbearable.After you overcome that,you will see that this is a very interesting story that will def.have your attention till the last page.I didnt like the way the story ended because so many questions were left unanswered...and I do mean it was alot.Something tragic happened towards the end that had alot of people shook up...and the first thing that popped into my mind was "dental records".I dont know,it just felt like something was just missing or didnt quite add up....like doing a math problem and getting the wrong answer.But anyway, I am looking forward to the sequel because right now this story needs alot of clarification and holes filled.

It only took a few hours to read.The book is the true meaning of some people who you think are your friends are truly not. I cant wait for part 2 to see what happens to Nae-Nae. Whatever happens to her she deserves it. There were a few mistakes with the editing, but overal I enjoyed the book.
