4 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Excellent collection of short stories By Kindle Customer This was a really excellent read from many up and coming writers. I'm not into spoilers but I'll say that many of the endings I never saw coming. Probably of one my favorites was "Satisfaction" by David Mcafee. I highly recommend this book to all.

By Alabama Teacher I have to admit that I love themed anthologies, and this one being about some great old songs takes the cake. I can enjoy just about anything that's well written, but these stories in particular were "dark" as the title suggests without crossing over into outright horror. They were more along the lines of the "makes you think" kind of story. As a middle-aged person, it was surprising even to me to find that I wasn't very familiar with some of the songs, so reading these stories based on their themes helped me appreciate them in a whole new way!

I very much enjoyed each of the stories on their own; it was a treat to read such individually excellent tales from different authors...the variety of creative approaches each person brought to the subject was fun and intriguing. It also introduced me to several writers I'd not heard of before, and made me curious about their individual writing projects. I do hope there will be another roundup of talent like this again - I'd definitely be interested in reading more.
