1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Just like life: quick, brutal and ugly By Amazon Customer Ok, so I'm a fanboy of Hartness's work. But having read all of the Bubba stories, I have to say I loved this. The pace and vulnerability shown here is as about universe John Wayne as you can get. It lacks the preachy monologue you'd expect. It is the hard, fast, ugly and filthy ending season 2 deserves. Just read the damn series, and the rest of his stuff. You'll be happy you did.

Tucker This series has been building to a final confrontation between Bubba and his evil, werewolf brother, Jason. We finally get to it with this story. Jason is planning to start his unholy war against mankind at the one place and time that will hurt Bubba the most: UGA football season opener. This story is the payoff that we've been wanting from this series. We find out what happened to Bubba's mother, and we get to see all the friends and allies that Bubba has made since the very start of the series. Bringing the current story arc to a very satisfying end, John G. Hartness leaves us glad to give our hero a little time off, but also wanting to read many more of this hillbilly avenger's exploits.
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. It's Bubba! By Gunrunner It is a Bubba story! Witty hillbilly repartee and snark. Hit things, shoot things, drink a bit, make jokes. Probably the most fun you can have for 99 cents.On a side note:I enjoy Hartness' writing, but the editing and wordsmithing has got to improve. The last 5 or 6 Bubba stories have had the same problem. I can't believe a professional editor let some of these errors get by. I'm not an editor, but I think I could do a better job than whoever is doing it know.
