An Astounding Dada collection By Linda Lerner To open Maintenant 9 is to fall through a cyber rabbit hole in which you don’t walk but “click on the yellow brick road” (Mark Kostabi) and are led into a world Craig Kite calls “Hell. Where everybody knows your name” and reveals the absurdity of lives lived with wired heads inside technology. Love born of the “ new technologies” is eventually “sunk by them," (Duska Vrhovac) in a world where parents dream of print(ing) a “wireless baby.” (Zenon Fajfer) Everyone is experiencing technical difficulties here as “Data Frankensteins become our masters.” (DD. Spungin) In an ironic twist, to escape from this techno-death, “the new hip thing is to write letters.” (Marie Lecrivain)The variety of art and writing in this anthology will astound you; it will also scare you as well. Yes, that 3 minute! Through his provocative disruptive writing culled from top international contributors. The latest edition of Maintenant 9: A Journal of Contemporary Dada Friting and Fart is an annual collection of contemporary Dadadadoo work by Dada instigator and Three Rooms Press spiritual and dystopian and absurd extreme advisor Arthur Cravan. Either way, if your imagination veers toward the absurd, with it's dozens of textual and visual examples you'll find satisfaction here. For me, it's comforting to know I'm not alone. There are humans still running free who might understand my license plate (LHOOQ), who believe dada is alive and well, and who prove it through their insight and art.
